Wolves Aid Adds Value To An Essential Wolverhampton Service

St George's HUB, based in Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton, has recently become one of this year's Wolves Aid beneficiaries.

The charity, which has been running for 40 years, offers a provision of activities and opportunities to support those over the age of 18 who were or are at risk of homelessness, are socially excluded, isolated or vulnerable. This includes poverty, unemployment, mental health issues, offenders and ex-offenders and male victims of domestic abuse. They often work with those people who have been turned away from other agencies.

Their support ranges from advice and guidance on accommodation and benefits, building confidence and self-esteem, improving user's health and developing life-skills and prospects.

Wolves Aid visited the charity with two of Wolves first team players, Nathan Byrne and George Saville, for the players to meet the service users and to learn more about the centre. Wolves Aid have funded St George's HUB for a key member of staff, the Service Delivery Officer, who co-ordinates the staff team, manages the Male Domestic Abuse Service, markets the service to clients and promotes issues relevant to those using the service. St George's HUB has received £54,000 over 3 years.

The clients were pleased to see the players visit the centre to celebrate the award "We were really delighted to meet the two Wolves players during their visit, they really entered into the spirit of St. George's HUB. The funding from Wolves Aid is wonderful news, we can't thank Wolves Aid enough, this service is vital to our lives."

"We were thrilled to meet the Wolves players at St. George's HUB. The funding from Wolves Aid will make a massive difference to our lives, it is wonderful to know that people care."
