Staffordshire Women's Aid - Wolves Aid's £1 million donation milestone

Wolves Aid was delighted to welcome Staffordshire Women's Aid to our annual Focus Fixture which took place at the recent Wolves Vs Rotherham United game.

Our 142nd donation, which is £11,325 to support a capital building project, has an additional significance as the combined total of our Wolves Aid donations has gone beyond £1 million, which is cash donations to local charities and organisations throughout the region.

Presenting the cheque to the organisation were Neeraj Malhotra, Consultant in Public Health and Ian Millard, Former Principal of the City of Wolverhampton College, who are both Wolves Community Trust Trustees.

Staffordshire Women's Aid, who are based in Stafford, provide specialist services for women and children living with, fleeing or recovering from the impact of domestic and/or sexual violence. Their services include a purpose built refuge, a 24 hour helpline, 1-1 specialist support, counselling, afterschool clubs and a Food Bank.

The donation has contributed towards a capital building project which is a new purpose built refuge and it will furnish and equip 2 of the self-contained flats, which will be used by women and children rebuilding their lives.

Dickie James, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Women's Aid said

"The representatives from Staffordshire Women's Aid are very appreciative of being given this opportunity to accept the cheque on the pitch and of course we were really delighted that the Trust had decided to support us with our essential work".

Wolves Aid would like to encourage groups and charities in the local area to check our criteria to see if they can apply and be part of our ever growing network within the community. To see our criteria please click here
