Premier Skills

Wolves Community Trust teamed up with the British Council and Premier League in delivering a Phase 1 Premier Skills Course to local primary and secondary school teachers from Ningbo in Zhejiang Province China.

The project is a three-phase development programme for local community-level coaches, which are delivered by professional coaches from Premier League clubs. This aims to build local capacity and leave a sustainable legacy in participating countries through training Premier Skills Coach Educators from partner organisations.

The programme in its design provides coaches with a methodology that they can use within their delivery to enhance football development. 40 local coaches spent 7 days learning from coach educators from Wolves, Bournemouth and the British Council via practical and classroom workshops. On the final day of the programme the 40 coaches split into 8 coaching groups and delivered a football festival to local school children from Ningbo City.

As a celebration for the week, the coaches received gifts from Wolverhampton Wanderers as a reward for their hard work during the course.
