Premier League School Sport

The end of the academic year in July brought a close three years of our Premier League School Sport project. Across the delivery period we have seen our outputs in Primary Schools increase by 500%, with over 50 lessons of Physical Education being taught weekly in 20 of the city's schools, alongside an extra-curricular and enrichment offer delivering a further 60+ sessions each week.

Our School Sport programme has become a core aspect of the clubs development pathway, and provides access to a large number of participants that without Premier League School Sport would have no engagement with the Football Club, or to any out of school activity due to the deprivation in the city and lack of disposable income available to their parents/guardians. Through the three project years, 5 players who have engaged with Premier League School Sport have gone on to sign contracts with the Wolves Academy.

From September 2016 Premier League School Sport evolves into a new project titled Premier League Primary Stars The new project has many similarities to its predecessor including a vast PE Curriculum, extra-curricular and enrichment offer but will now have many additional benefits including CPD for teachers and targeted interventions for pupils with additional needs such as being gifted and talented or disengaged from core subjects such as Literacy and Numeracy. We are delighted to be able to offer Premier League Primary Stars to all of Wolverhampton's Primary Schools. If you work within a school and would like to get involved or would like more information please get in touch using the contact details below;
