"if it wasn't for Luke's, there wouldn't be Wolves! But Wolves Community Trust bring a real benefit to our staff and pupils during PE".
Premier League Primary Stars Launch
Recently we were joined by Dave Edwards and Prince Oniangue as well as Wolves Community Trust trustees including Laurie Dalrymple to launch our new Premier League Primary Stars programme at St Luke's CE (Aided) Primary School. Premier League Primary Stars replaces what was formally Premier League School Sport and see's us expand our 'School Sport - The Wolves Way' offer which sees us engage pupils aged 5-11 in Primary, Special and PRU schools across the city and surrounding areas.
School Sport - The Wolves Way is an offer which is bespoke to each school in the city but see's our staff work to engage pupils and schools in a variety of ways. The core themes are to improve pupils' interest, understanding of and confidence in PE, Literacy, Numeracy and PSHE through engaging curriculum based lessons.
St Luke's was a fitting setting to host the launch with its storied history with the football club and the formation of Wolverhampton Wanderers by two pupils of the school in 1877. Alison Grennan, Headteacher of the school said
Dave and Prince took part in a Year 1 Fundamentals lesson but also got involved with a Year 5 PSHE lesson teaching the importance of Respect.
"Wolverhampton is a one club city and as role models we should come out to schools and different areas and help in any way we can"
School Sport - The Wolves Way is now fully up and running and see's Wolves Community Trust deliver over 100 different sessions in schools across the city each week.
