Charities Visit Molineux

To celebrate funding awards from both Wolves Aid and The Morgan Foundation, Steve Morgan's charity, three groups have visited Molineux on recent match-days.

Albrighton Trust

Albrighton Trust, based in Albrighton near Wolverhampton, celebrated a £6,350 award from Wolves Aid, a contribution towards building costs for their new purpose built centre. The charity, which has been in existence since 1980 has a recreational and educational centre based in surrounding gardens and provides sessions including horticulture and fishing for children and young adults with physical and learning difficulties. Sandie Jackson, Manager at The Albrighton Trust, who attended the Wolves v Barnet game, said

"Everyone enjoyed themselves especially our beneficiaries, who were beside themselves with excitement when we went on to the pitch at half time"

Another Wolves Aid supported charity, Willenhall Chart Centre who were guests at the Wolves V Charlton Athletic game, are now in their second year of funding. The charity, which has received £16,000 over two years for a part-time Administrator, is based in Willenhall and addresses deprivation issues including low income, unemployment, poor levels of health, disability, crime and isolation. Some of the projects include provision of hot meals for the elderly, services for people with physical and learning disabilities, child obesity and those suffering from dementia.

The third group to benefit from a visit to Molineux were a Morgan Foundation supported charity, the Wrexham Warehouse project. The organisation, who enjoyed the Wolves v Brighton & Hove Albion match in September are a training and employment centre which offer opportunities for disadvantaged young people including sports, theatre, music and cooking. Kim Powell, Manager of the charity said 'We wanted to say a big thank you to Wolves Aid for the visit. The young people had a great day and particularly loved the museum tour'.
