FdSc Community Football Coaching and Development

Are you interested in a career in football?

The Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching and Development provides an opportunity to gain an industry-recognised coaching award while being affiliated to Wolves Community Trust. This unique football coaching course has been designed in conjunction with the English Football League Trust (EFLT) to identify the type of skills and qualities that are required to work within professional football clubs community departments or national governing bodies in areas of growth such as social inclusion, community coaching and football development.

The Foundation Degree Community Football Coaching and Development will be based at Wolves Community Trust, and lectures, seminars and tutorials will be delivered on site and via provided material.

Our football coaching course allows students to study all sub disciplines of coaching and gain valuable industry recognised qualifications. The course will teach you aspects of generic children and youth coaching, football coaching, football development, social inclusion, and sports management skills. You'll learn about children and youth coaching, football coaching, football development, social inclusion, and sports management skills. You will be based predominantly within your own football club, with a minimum of five days per year at the USW Sport Park, our £3.7m state-of-the-art coaching and performance development centre.

There will be further opportunity to apply your knowledge with an extensive work based learning programme provided by Wolves Community Trust, working within specific roles and real life football projects.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the course the following qualification are required from the following;

  • UCAS Tariff - 40-48 points
  • A Level - DD - DE
  • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma - PPP
  • BTEC Level 3 National Diploma - MM

All Students must hold an FA Level 1 in football coaching or equivalent foundation level football coaching qualification from a football (NGB)

Tuition Fees

All fees are per year, once you have started your course then your fees will remain the same for each year of study.

Career Opportunities

There is the option to study a top up year in BSc (Hons) Football Coaching, Development and Administration which allows students to complete the third and final year of the degree.

Graduates of the degree can pursue careers in a variety of areas in sport.
